Overview

Café Grade (cafegrade.com) is operated by White Hat SEO Ltd. This policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and your rights. We do not sell personal data. We do not run advertising. The site earns revenue through affiliate commissions described in our Affiliate Disclosure.

Data we collect

Analytics

We use Google Analytics 4 (GA4) to understand how visitors use the site. GA4 collects anonymised data including pages visited, time on page, device type, and general geographic region (country/region level). We do not collect names, email addresses, or any personally identifiable information via analytics. IP addresses are anonymised by Google before storage.

Affiliate link clicks

When you click an affiliate link, we record that a click occurred (via a GA4 custom event) including the affiliate program and a page-level identifier. No personal data is associated with this event.

Cookies

Google Analytics sets first-party cookies for session tracking. These cookies do not contain personally identifiable information. No advertising or tracking cookies are set by Café Grade directly.

Newsletter

If you sign up for the Café Grade newsletter, we store the email address you give us, and the date and wording of the consent you ticked, so we can show what you agreed to. That is the only personal data the newsletter collects — we never ask for a name, and we never buy or rent address lists.

What we send: at most two emails a month, and only when one of three things happens — a new guide or comparison is published, a model we cover is replaced or discontinued, or a safety notice or recall affects equipment we cover. We do not send advertising, sponsored placements, discount codes, or affiliate links; every link in our emails goes to a page on cafegrade.com.

Lawful basis: your consent, given by ticking the box on the sign-up form. Processor: HubSpot, Inc. stores the list and sends the emails on our behalf (legal.hubspot.com/privacy-policy); HubSpot records whether an email was opened or a link clicked, which we use only to see whether the newsletter is worth continuing.

Unsubscribing: every email carries a one-click unsubscribe link, and you can also write to hello@cafegrade.com to be removed. We keep your address until you unsubscribe, and delete it within 30 days of an unsubscribe or a deletion request, apart from a suppression record that exists only to make sure we do not email you again by mistake.

Children

Café Grade is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children.

We may update this policy periodically. The "last updated" date at the top of this page will reflect any changes. Continued use of the site after a policy update constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
